    Illegal Immigration
    Kyle LutzL.
Illegal immigration is becoming a very large problem in the United States. Throughout the years, illegal immigrants have either crossed the border by entering without inspection or by using false identification or documentation. Between twelve to twenty million illegal immigrants are currently living in the United States illegally. About two thirds of illegal immigrants have used some type of false identification or documentation to enter the United States. Not only has illegal immigration been a problem in the United States, but it is also growing quite fast in other countries. At this time there are over 7,500,000 unemployed Americans who are actively seeking jobs, many by which are taken by more than 12,000,000 illegal immigrants in the United States.
When you consider the employment views, the mass amounts of illegal immigrants have cause increased competition in the job market and have caused the wages of workers to decrease. The illegal immigrants are stealing the American people’s jobs and the reason for this is because they are willing to work for less than the American people but they will be earning more than they would if they were working in own country. For every 100 illegal immigrants who find jobs in the United States, 65 American people are displaced. Illegal immigrants aren’t just taking the American people’s job, but also their identification. While doing this, the illegal immigrants can open up credit cards and such and spend thousands of dollars, leaving the person they stole the identity from in debt.
    ...
Without illegal immigrants, the United States would be much better off. I believe that the death penalty should start being used to control the illegal immigration problems. I also thing that if the death penalty was sought out to control illegal immigrants, then illegal immigrants would stop coming to America which will help out with a lot of problems in the United States. Many jobs will open up for the American people. Illegal immigration is unfair to the American citizens and to the immigrants who go to the great lengths to enter this country legally.
    War
    Samantha PitzerP.
Why are we in Iraq? That is a very general question. It depends on who you ask. Let me answer it; with the facts, of course. Secretary of State, Colin Powell, visited the United Nations, described the exact weapons of mass destruction, including the weight of some, that the Bush administration claimed was in large quantities in Iraq. We were also told that they knew exactly the place in which Iraq was storing them. When UN inspectors searched for these so called “weapons of mass destruction,” there was none to be found. Why didn’t we share our knowledge of this, so that they knew where to look? The answer is simple. Because we didn’t know either. But yet the government denied it; saying that we shouldn’t compromise with them because it is confidential knowledge. In other words, it was just too important for anyone to know, even though it could hurt us all.
Another reason the United States was given for why we should go to war in Iraq was because Saddam Hussein was an awful, horrible dictator. But as everyone knows, he isn’t the only one. It’s shown throughout history that the U.S. has been quite friendly to other dictators of the world, when it helps out our financial situations. So we shouldn’t have had any reason to go if our government is telling the truth, right?
So if this is all true, and it is, WHY did we spend so much money to watch our men die? The answer is extremely simple, but most of the United States has been too brain-washed to see it. “Oil.” That is that answer. The Middle East isn’t going to just hand over their petroleum, and we rely so much on it to run so many things. Cars, plains, ships—basically anything in our transportation system, and so much more, all use oil. It would be strange to take your vehicle in for a 3,000 mile check up and not have your oil changed, wouldn’t it? We don’t even realize how big of a deal it really is. We should use our own oil in Alaska if we need this oil. But environmentalists forbid us from it. The environmentalists can make our government officials feel guilty about the moose in Alaska, but not about lying to our entire country about the war we are in. There is something wrong here.
    ...
    our part.
Not only that, but while “trying to rebuild” Iraq, and be the “good guy,” we are doing just the opposite. We are making money from the Iraqis who originally built it in the first place. Why are we getting into their business and messing up what they want? Money and Petroleum. How greedy and daft is that? That makes us look worse than ever, and we are the ones supposed to be fair in democracy. Yes we may vote, but it is hard to see through the fog when our own government is lying to us on some of the biggest issues. We have allies now, but what happens when they turn their back, in realizing our ludicrous we are?
These are the real reason, that no one else will tell you, why we are in Iraq. If no one believes it, just look at the facts; AND BRING HOME OUR TROOPS. WE DON’T NEED THIS WAR!
    Health Care
    Courtney BraekelB.
The Health Care Reform, a major discussion in the U.S. government, everyone has their own opinions, their own thoughts, exactly which is the correct road to take?
President Obama wants to provide more security and stability to those who already have health insurance and provide health insurance for the people who do not. He believes his plan will lower the cost of health care for our families and our government. He is allowing citizens who already have health insurance to keep it, but provide more security and stability to them. He is ending discrimination for people with pre-existing conditions such as cancer, COPD, and Rheumatoid Arthritis. He is preventing insurance companies from dropping policy holders when they become sick and need it most. He’s cutting cost for preventive care such as flu-shots, mammograms and diabetes testing. For the people without health insurance, Obama wants to create a marketplace for the uninsured to view different kinds of insurance and compare prices. President Obama wants to increase taxes to help the uninsured pay for health insurance and help small businesses cover their employees.
    ...
So which road in the one to take? Everyone has their own way of looking at it, along with their own beliefs. It’s quite a hard topic to understand, I’m not sure if even I understand fully.
    Trade
    Kalson CheowC.
The trade system we have here in America is not advantageous because we import more than we export causing us to have a large trade deficit. All the things we have in the United States seems to be made in other countries or have components made in other countries. Most of the metals and industrial diamonds we use to make things come from other countries. Many people go a long time without coming into contact with something genuinely made in the United States. Also things from other countries can have defects that we can’t catch early on. There were incidents recently that involved lead in certain products imported in from a certain country. The things we export are almost nonexistent or not keeping up with the price of our imports. We owe so much to china and I’m sure other countries have lots of monetary leverage over us. Here we spend half of the worlds global military spending yet we can’t seem to settle our debts. We are so dependent on the cheap things we import from other countries it seems that we would not be able to function without it. We are addicted to foreign imports and we cannot shake the habit. Something has to be done soon or the united states will pass the point of no return

The United States is not what it should be. There are issues that affect the entirety of America. We pride ourselves on having a racially diverse society. I believe that it is time to have more diversity in the Whitehouse. More diversity means a broader prospective and we need to have many opinions to tackle the issues in a fair way that is equal to all.
The state of healthcare in the United States is inadequate and inefficient at the moment. Our health care is not working for us, our grandparents and children. People are dying solely because of health care issues. What harm could come about from fixing a system that does not work. I believe that nothing but good can come from rectifying the failure system that is our current health care situation. I and my party will work hard to make the health care system work for you and the ones you hold dear.
