The United States is not what it should be. There are issues that affect the entirety of America. We pride ourselves on having a racially diverse society. I believe that it is time to have more diversity in the Whitehouse. More diversity means a broader prospective and we need to have many opinions to tackle the issues in a fair way that is equal to all.
The state of healthcare in the United States is inadequate and inefficient at the moment. Our health care is not working for us, our grandparents and children. People are dying solely because of health care issues. What harm could come about from fixing a system that does not work. I believe that nothing but good can come from rectifying the failure system that is our current health care situation. I and my party will work hard to make the health care system work for you and the ones you hold dear.
I believe that war is not something that should we should invest in. Wars endanger our happiness and our lives and the lives of our loved ones. I am sure that many people would agree with me when I say that we have lost enough precious lives in wars we don’t have to fight. I am tired of my fellow people dying because we cannot seem to solve our problems in a way that does not involve people killing each other. Enough American and innocent blood has been shed.
Our country is in a bad situation at the moment. We have a large debt of 36.5 billion in foreign trade deficit. A large majority of the raw materials we use in our production of goods is imported from another country. We hardly have any exports any more. 64 % of the silver we use is imported. We import 68% of the nickel we use. We also import 72% of tin, 73% of chromium, 95% of our cobalt and 100% of the mica. Manganese and industrial diamonds we use in daily life is imported from another country. One of the only things we have in this country that we can export is our agricultural goods and I am sure we could make a profit and get out of our trade deficit with the profit we make. And once we have gained economic freedom again we can begin a true recovery of our economy and begin to create jobs and start employing Americans in jobs that will have security.
In the United States we have an illegal immigration problem. Illegal immigrants are taking jobs from hard working earnest Americans. Companies are passing up hard working qualified Americans for illegal immigrants that they can pay less. We need to stop the flow of illegal immigrants and help the people of America reclaim its jobs. I am shocked and appalled that a company that is in America is letting a non American take away from the glory of the country. Vote for me and I promise to make sure that all companies submit all information on all workers to the government to ensure that each worker is a genuine American. I will also make a service that on a regular basis sends out a government worker to check and observe businesses in secrecy and weed out illegal immigrants so that more opportunities will be open to true hard working Americans.
There is also a growing problem in the united states that people cannot afford the higher education we all need to be successful in today’s America. We all are required to go through a certain amount of schooling. But what about the people who want more than that but cant attain the knowledge they thirst for. I will make an effort to make higher education more available to the general public at a more reasonable price. We as humans seek knowledge as it is in our nature to know more and gain more knowledge. It shouldn’t cost us thousands of dollars to attain the knowledge we were born with the right to have.
Vote for me vote for change that makes sense.

Illegal Immigration
Kyle L. Illegal immigration is becoming a very large problem in the United States. Throughout the years, illegal immigrants have either crossed the border by entering without inspection or by using false identification or documentation. Between twelve to twenty million illegal immigrants are currently living in the United States illegally. About two thirds of illegal immigrants have used some type of false identification or documentation to enter the United States. Not only has illegal immigration been a problem in the United States, but it is also growing quite fast in other countries. At this time there are over 7,500,000 unemployed Americans who are actively seeking jobs, many by which are taken by more than 12,000,000 illegal immigrants in the United States.
When you consider the employment views, the mass amounts of illegal immigrants have cause increased competition in the job market and have caused the wages of workers to decrease. The illegal immigrants are stealing the American people’s jobs and the reason for this is because they are willing to work for less than the American people but they will be earning more than they would if they were working in own country. For every 100 illegal immigrants who find jobs in the United States, 65 American people are displaced. Illegal immigrants aren’t just taking the American people’s job, but also their identification. While doing this, the illegal immigrants can open up credit cards and such and spend thousands of dollars, leaving the person they stole the identity from in debt.
Illegal immigrants also cause a security threat to the United States. They could possibly be terrorist trying to pursuit a terrorist act and could be successful if they are not stopped before they cross the border. A congressional report revealed that in 2005, border patrol agents apprehended 650 illegal immigrants from special interest countries. Special interest countries are countries that could export individuals that could bring harm to our country in the way of terrorism. Illegal immigrants also bring a lot of gang violence to the United States. The gang violence is killing many innocent Americans, and without illegal immigrants, this would never happen
Without illegal immigrants, the United States would be much better off. I believe that the death penalty should start being used to control the illegal immigration problems. I also thing that if the death penalty was sought out to control illegal immigrants, then illegal immigrants would stop coming to America which will help out with a lot of problems in the United States. Many jobs will open up for the American people. Illegal immigration is unfair to the American citizens and to the immigrants who go to the great lengths to enter this country legally.
War
Samantha P. Why are we in Iraq? That is a very general question. It depends on who you ask. Let me answer it; with the facts, of course. Secretary of State, Colin Powell, visited the United Nations, described the exact weapons of mass destruction, including the weight of some, that the Bush administration claimed was in large quantities in Iraq. We were also told that they knew exactly the place in which Iraq was storing them. When UN inspectors searched for these so called “weapons of mass destruction,” there was none to be found. Why didn’t we share our knowledge of this, so that they knew where to look? The answer is simple. Because we didn’t know either. But yet the government denied it; saying that we shouldn’t compromise with them because it is confidential knowledge. In other words, it was just too important for anyone to know, even though it could hurt us all.
Another reason the United States was given for why we should go to war in Iraq was because Saddam Hussein was an awful, horrible dictator. But as everyone knows, he isn’t the only one. It’s shown throughout history that the U.S. has been quite friendly to other dictators of the world, when it helps out our financial situations. So we shouldn’t have had any reason to go if our government is telling the truth, right?
So if this is all true, and it is, WHY did we spend so much money to watch our men die? The answer is extremely simple, but most of the United States has been too brain-washed to see it. “Oil.” That is that answer. The Middle East isn’t going to just hand over their petroleum, and we rely so much on it to run so many things. Cars, plains, ships—basically anything in our transportation system, and so much more, all use oil. It would be strange to take your vehicle in for a 3,000 mile check up and not have your oil changed, wouldn’t it? We don’t even realize how big of a deal it really is. We should use our own oil in Alaska if we need this oil. But environmentalists forbid us from it. The environmentalists can make our government officials feel guilty about the moose in Alaska, but not about lying to our entire country about the war we are in. There is something wrong here.
We’ve already started inventing new way of running cars, with other substances other than petroleum, and so far, they are efficient. We need to pull out our troops now. We should not waste men and money over something we obviously don’t truly need. Our government wants to pretend, put on a face for the Iraqi’s. Let them believe that we are making their country a great democracy. The governments plan is to conquer them, and take over the oil-producing countries. It will never work though. They don’t want to be a democracy. They wouldn’t be killing our men if they did. And the rest of the world will never let us take over the oil. It’s simply too much power on our part.
Not only that, but while “trying to rebuild” Iraq, and be the “good guy,” we are doing just the opposite. We are making money from the Iraqis who originally built it in the first place. Why are we getting into their business and messing up what they want? Money and Petroleum. How greedy and daft is that? That makes us look worse than ever, and we are the ones supposed to be fair in democracy. Yes we may vote, but it is hard to see through the fog when our own government is lying to us on some of the biggest issues. We have allies now, but what happens when they turn their back, in realizing our ludicrous we are?
These are the real reason, that no one else will tell you, why we are in Iraq. If no one believes it, just look at the facts; AND BRING HOME OUR TROOPS. WE DON’T NEED THIS WAR!
Health Care
Courtney B.
The Health Care Reform, a major discussion in the U.S. government, everyone has their own opinions, their own thoughts, exactly which is the correct road to take? President Obama wants to provide more security and stability to those who already have health insurance and provide health insurance for the people who do not. He believes his plan will lower the cost of health care for our families and our government. He is allowing citizens who already have health insurance to keep it, but provide more security and stability to them. He is ending discrimination for people with pre-existing conditions such as cancer, COPD, and Rheumatoid Arthritis. He is preventing insurance companies from dropping policy holders when they become sick and need it most. He’s cutting cost for preventive care such as flu-shots, mammograms and diabetes testing. For the people without health insurance, Obama wants to create a marketplace for the uninsured to view different kinds of insurance and compare prices. President Obama wants to increase taxes to help the uninsured pay for health insurance and help small businesses cover their employees.
Why is the healthcare reform such a “hot topic”? Fewer and fewer Americans have health insurance, resulting in bad medical care, or at least not the best. Nearly 46 million Americans have no insurance, and 25 million more are underinsured. One main reason for this are employers that are no longer offering health insurance to their employees, due to the high cost of health care in the United States. Think how it would feel if you were sick or broke a leg, and could not go to the Emergency Room. On November 7, 2009, the White House voted In the House, lawmakers voted 220 to 215 to approve a plan that would cost $1.1 trillion over 10 years and provide coverage to most American citizens who currently do not have it. According to the New York Times this benchmark is only the beginning of the journey to the health care reform. This plan forbids insurance companies from denying individuals due to pre-existing conditions. The 160 million Americans who already have their own coverage through their employer would stay will that insurance. Nearly everyone will be required to get insurance or face a penalty, and businesses will be required to provide coverage or contribute to its cost. Pre-diabetes is a condition where blood glucose levels are higher than normal, putting an individual at risk for developing full-blown diabetes. Getting recommended screening tests for pre-diabetes can decrease the chance of developing the disease, because if the disease is caught in the pre-diabetes stage, initiating lifestyle changes can reduce the risk of developing diabetes by 58 percent. This, like any other preventive care, will lower health care costs. If health care workers find the disease sooner, the sooner they can fight it and possibly destroy the entire disease. If the patient overcomes the disease, the less money it will take to keep them alive and well. A diabetic patient tests their blood sugar levels two to six times a day, and because most test strips are monitor-specific, a box of 100 test strips can cost up to $60. Additionally, the price of one insulin vial can range from $30 to $70, mainly because generic brands are not manufactured in the U.S. If the patient knew beforehand and a health care worker got the disease under control this money would not be needed. The Republicans say, "The American people need to understand this is about a government takeover of the whole health care system". They believe both consumers and companies would be slapped with penalties if they defied the government's mandates. Republicans also believe industries will lose its exemption from federal antitrust restrictions on price gouging, bid rigging and market allocation, hurting them in the end. So which road in the one to take? Everyone has their own way of looking at it, along with their own beliefs. It’s quite a hard topic to understand, I’m not sure if even I understand fully.
Trade
Kalson C.
The trade system we have here in America is not advantageous because we import more than we export causing us to have a large trade deficit. All the things we have in the United States seems to be made in other countries or have components made in other countries. Most of the metals and industrial diamonds we use to make things come from other countries. Many people go a long time without coming into contact with something genuinely made in the United States. Also things from other countries can have defects that we can’t catch early on. There were incidents recently that involved lead in certain products imported in from a certain country. The things we export are almost nonexistent or not keeping up with the price of our imports. We owe so much to china and I’m sure other countries have lots of monetary leverage over us. Here we spend half of the worlds global military spending yet we can’t seem to settle our debts. We are so dependent on the cheap things we import from other countries it seems that we would not be able to function without it. We are addicted to foreign imports and we cannot shake the habit. Something has to be done soon or the united states will pass the point of no return
